November 2008 - NCCC to host Franklin County Flu Shot Clinic November 21, 2008
North Country Community College will host the annual Franklin County Flu Shot Clinic. The Flu Clinic will run from 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Sparks Athletic Complex on the Saranac Lake Campus. FREE flu shots will be available to the first 500 attendees. Please contact records@nccc.edu for more information.
November 2008 - NCCC Annual Holiday Arts & Craft Fair will be held November 23, 2008:
North Country Community College will hold its 23rd Annual Holiday Arts & Craft Fair on Sunday November 23, 2008 from 10:00am - 3:30pm at the Sparks Physical Education Complex in Saranac Lake. More than 70 vendors will be present at the fair and admission is only $2.00 for Adults. more info...
November 2008 - NCCC Releases Winter & Spring 2009 Course Schedules

North Country Community College releases Winter and Spring 2009 courses schedules. Winter and Spring term course schedules can be accessed from our course offerings page located here .
Current students can register for Winter or Spring 2009 courses online or by contacting their advisors. New students (including Transfer students) that are interested in attending NCCC for one of these terms should complete an admissions application if they have not already done so and will be invited to attend a new student registration session in December 2008 or January 2009.
November 2008 - Parker Named Region III Coach of the Year
Adam Parker, Head Coach of the Saints Men's Soccer team, has been named the 2008 Region III Coach of the Year. Parker took over the men's soccer program as head coach at the beginning of the 2007 season.
This year, Parker and his team were given the #6 seed in the Region III Tournament and advanced to the Region III Quarterfinal, where they fell to the #3 seed SUNY Delhi 4-0. The men's soccer team had not participated in the Regional Tournament since 2000. The Saints finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 12-4-1. more info...
October 2008 - Saints Player Earns Conference Honors
Recently, the coaches of the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference named their All-Conference Men's Soccer Team. The All-Conference team recognizes the best players within the Conference, which consists of 9 institutions from the New York area. Among the honorees were forward Liam Gilbert and defender James Allen.
August 2008 - North Country Receives Prestigious SUNY-Wide Award
North Country’s Athletic Mentoring Program (AMP) has been recognized as an outstanding student affairs program by the Office of University Life at SUNY System Administration and the Council of Community College Chief Student Affairs Officers. North Country’s Athletic Mentoring Program is designed to encourage successful academic, athletic and personal endeavors. Strategic and effective collaboration between students, faculty, institutional research and the Learning Assistance Center has made AMP a success. FULL STORY
July 2008 – A stitch in time: The Adirondack North Country Quilt Camp returns to NCCC
For the second Summer in a row, the ladies of the North Country Quilt Camp came to the Saranac Lake campus of NCCC to weave their magic. Okay, weaving wasn’t on the agenda, but the three day camp did, according to their literature, “focus on all aspects of quiltmaking,” with classes designed to help and inspire quilters of all skill levels. June 2008 - NCCC Scholarship Golf Tourney a great success
As is the norm for June in the Adirondacks, the day began with rain – and plenty of it – which continued as the start time approached. The event was the 14th annual NCCC Foundation Scholarship Golf Tournament, slated for a noon shotgun start at the Whiteface Club in Lake Placid. FULL STORY
May 2008 - NCCC and Noble harness each other's power
Noble Environmental Power of Connecticut has announced it will provide a $50,000 development grant to North Country Community College to design a two-year degree and training program in Alternative Energy. FULL STORY
The State University of New York Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Frederick G. Smith as Interim President of North Country Community College. This appointment will continue until such time as a presidential search is completed and a new President takes office. FULL STORY
February 2008: Visit England, Ireland, and Wales on NCCC Tour

February 2008: North Country students contribute to Saranac Lake's 111th Winter Carnival
Winter Carnival Princess Becky Strack was elected by the NCCC student body to serve on the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Court. After participating in the Grant Coronation, she had the pleasure of attending a variety of family-oriented activities including innertube races at Mt. Pisgah, and ice skating show, and of course, the Parade. FULL STORY
December 2007 - Biological Sciences going strong at NCCC
For 40 years, North Country Community College has very much been a center for scientific studies, constantly helping its students prepare for careers in an increasingly science-oriented world. North Country's full time Biological Sciences faculty is comprised of Dr. Peter Biesemeyer at the Malone campus; Dr. Ann Lincoln, Dr. Rich Martin, Dr. Judith Steinberg, and Susan Moss at the Saranac Lake campus. October 2007 - NCCC announces Essex & Franklin County Scholars Award
North Country Community College is pleased to announce the creation of the Essex and Franklin County Scholars Award starting with the fall 2008 entering class. Any 2008 graduating public high school senior who is a resident of either Essex or Franklin County and is in the top 20 percent of their will receive a full two-year scholarship for their full-time attendance at North Country. This scholarship carries a minimum two year total award of $6,680. FULL STORY
October 2007 - It's NCCC's 40th anniversary and October 7-13 is named 'NCCC Week'
As North Country Community College celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, Town and Village Boards in Essex and Franklin counties have passed resolutions that name October 7 through 13 as "NCCC Week" in their localities. FULL STORY
June 2007 - NCCC and Franklin University sign joint four-year degree agreement
Saranac Lake - North Country Community College and Columbus, Ohio-based Franklin University have entered into an agreement whereby North Country graduates can continue their studies at the College and completing coursework online leading to a bachelor's degree from Franklin University. FULL STORY
